Social Support Effects on Life Satisfaction of Women with Disabilities - Focusing on Mediating Effects of Depression -

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to examine whether depression mediates the association between social support and life satisfaction of disabled women. The study used 12th panel data of Korean Welfare Panel Study. Findings of the current study are as followed. First, we found that social support had positive effect on life satisfaction of disabled women. Second, we found that social support had negative effect on depression of disabled women. Third, we found that depression had negative influence on life satisfaction of women with disabilities. And finally, we found a partially mediating effect of depression between social support and life satisfaction of women with disabilities. Therefore, it is necessary to select disabled women with low social support and activate as well as develop various program to help alleviate their depression.
